Start with the week, then choose the meals.

Late meetings, evenings out and a fridge with leftovers all belong in the plan. Use one weekly page to make those details visible.

Print the pages you need. Add a grocery list for shopping, a pantry inventory for what you already have, or a recipe journal for something you want to make again.

For Christmas menus and shopping, see the separate Christmas Meal Planner.

  1. Check the week ahead.

Write the week at the top. Note busy evenings and choose your own meals for Monday through Sunday.

  2. Check the kitchen.

Look through your pantry and fridge before adding ingredients to the grocery list. Keep useful details in the notes area.

  3. Keep a recipe worth repeating.

Use the recipe journal to record your own ingredients, directions, timings and notes for next time.

Fictional dinner plan

Turn seven dinner ideas into one shopping list.

For 14–20 September 2026, this example repeats a few ingredients across the week. Spinach goes into Monday's pasta and Thursday's couscous; black beans work in Tuesday's quesadillas and Friday's baked potato.

Monday
Tomato & spinach pasta
Tuesday
Black bean quesadillas
Wednesday
Egg fried rice
Thursday
Chickpea & spinach couscous
Friday
Baked potato & black beans
Saturday
Pepper & cheese omelet
Sunday
Tomato & chickpea pasta

Check the kitchen, then group the groceries.

The six grocery rows hold spinach and bell peppers; potatoes and frozen peas; eggs and cheddar; canned black beans and chickpeas; pasta, rice and couscous; tortillas and canned tomatoes.

This example assumes oil, salt, pepper and soy sauce are already in the pantry. Choose quantities for your household and the recipes you plan to use.

Typed entries demonstrate what you can write by hand. The purchased PDF contains blank, static worksheets. These are dinner ideas, with no recipes, serving sizes or meal program included.
